Mud Hens

Our friends at the Wagley Funeral Home invited us to join them for a Toledo Mud Hens game Saturday night.  We watched from one of the suites on the upper decks, with a great view of the action.  We even had a personal visit from Muddy, the team mascot.  I sat there and remembered how my Dad took me to Dodger baseball games when I was a boy and we were visiting relatives in Los Angeles.  He always recorded the action as it took place, using the special sheet for that provided in the program.  I love the suspension of time in baseball; the action on the field is not dependent on a clock.  Baseball is one of the few sports like this.

The new field in Toledo incorporated old buildings downtown into its design.

The Mud Hens lost, unfortunately, 9-2.  But we still had a lovely time.
