Looking at the Ceiling

I hurt my back yesterday. So I have spent time since then on the floor, stretching out my back and looking at the ceiling, as I am here in my office. There was still work to do, officiating at a funeral today and making a hospital visit in Toledo. Friday is supposed to be my sabbath day, but it doesn’t always work out that way. Still I had sabbath time on the floor looking at the ceiling. I think ceiling comes from the Latin caelum, meaning sky.

..Sorry to hear about your back Chris..there is nothing worse, other than a really bad tooth ache…I read once that in ancient biblical times(BC&AD) that it was common for people to go up on their roof tops to sleep because of the heat..laying on their backs looking up into the heavens until they fell asleep…can you imagine how bright and crisp the night sky must have looked then…….

I can imagine because I have seen the night sky high up in the Sierras, far from lights and civilization. It is a beautiful sight!
